To apply for the September 2027 class, follow the info below
PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE PAGE BEFORE STARTING YOUR APPLICATION.
To meet minimum qualifications for apprenticeship,
applicants must:
- be a minimum of 17 years of age to apply and 18 years of age at time of indenture. (18 BY JULY)
- be at least a high school graduate, or have a G.E.D, or have a two-year associate degree or higher.
- have successfully completed one full year of high school algebra with a passing grade, or one post high school algebra course with a passing grade.
- provide an official transcript for high school and post high school education and training. ALL G.E.D records must be submitted if applicable.
- have OSHA 30 training in Construction
Documents required for the above requirements:
- a valid driver’s license.
- a copy of a high school diploma or G.E.D or two-year associate degree or higher. If an applicant is still a senior in High School, they must provide a letter from the school stating applicants are on track to graduate.
- proof of successfully completing 1 full year of algebra.
- an official high school transcript (if an applicant left high school to earn a G.E.D you would still need to obtain a transcript up to the date of when the applicant withdrew from high school).
- OSHA 30 Card.

Applications must be submitted online at ibew102.org. Please check the website frequently as application dates are subject to change. Once you have created your account in the portal, you will have 30 days from the application date to upload all required documents (JATC must receive your official transcript directly from the issuing institution within 30 days as well). There is a $50.00 non-refundable application processing fee due at the time of application for each program.
Please note the following:
- After submitting your application, you will receive ALL updates via email regarding the status of your application and the next steps in the process. It is the applicant's responsibility to provide an accurate email address and to check their email regularly.
- All documents must be uploaded within 30 days from the date you started your application.
- The Local 102 JATC must receive your transcripts DIRECTLY from the issuing institution. Information on how and where to send the transcripts will be provided via email after you have established an application profile in the application portal.
- All information regarding test dates and interview dates will also be sent via email.
- DO NOT CALL THE OFFICE before checking your emails. Please check your junk and spam folders as well.
**If you have already applied for the 2026 class and are requesting a 4,000-hour interview form, please contact the JATC office at 973-428-2848. Please DO NOT call the main office.

**The application portal will open at 9am and will end at 12pm or capped to a max of 200 applicants per day for the “Inside Wireman” program (or whichever comes first) and 50 applicants per day for the “Telecommunications” program (or whichever comes first).
