Sussex Economic Forum - State of Work in NJ and in Sussex County - (4/25/2007)

For the third year in a row, the Sussex County One Stop in Franklin and the Sussex Economic Forum will hold its annual "State of Work in New Jersey and Sussex County" at its Offices at the Littell Center in Franklin on May 3, 2007 from 9AM to 11AM. Featured speakers will be Jon Shure, a former reporter for the Bergen Record, and now Head of the New Jersey Policy Perspective (NJPP) in Trenton, an economic think tank that plays a prominent role in state issue and policy generation. Other speakers will include Murray Sabrin, a former candidate for Governor and a Professor of Finance at Ramapo State College.

Giving a more local perspective on issues impacting Sussex County will be Tammie Horsfield, Head of the 700 member Sussex Chamber of Commerce, and Dan Bayha, the head of a new local company - Back to the Future - that is reaching take-off status but is facing tribulations, taxes and other issues. We also have the pleasure of having Louis Baram, the Business Manager of IBEW Local 102 discussing the issues impacting his local.

The forum is free and open to local businesses and citizens interested in what is happening in New Jersey and locally. Issues of competitiveness and globalization will be presented in a provocative sense, and questions and answers will be allowed at the end of the presentation. People interested in attending this event are asked to RSVP by calling Bill Weightman at 973-209-1217 or via email at William.Weightman@dol.state.nj.us. Refreshments will be served, but seting is limited on a first come basis.
